Mounting Requirements

Roof Bars

Securing your RoofPod to a set of load bars is the best method.

Most Roofbars are fully compatible with the standard installation of a RoofPod.

Roof Bar Requirements

  • Must be raised of the top of your car/canopy enough to fit your hand under to tighten our clamps.
  • Must be a minimum length of 1250mm for a ComfyPod and 1350mm  for a CoziPod.
  • Must be minimum of 900m apart from each other.

Bars we know and trust

  • Thule Bars
  • Front Runner Load Bars
  • Alucab Load Bars
  •  Hold Fast Load Bars

If you require bars for your set up, we are able to quote and acquire the load bars you need for your vehicle.

If you are unsure please contact us with your query/photos of your set up.

Flat Roof Bars?
If you have Roof Bars that are flat on your canopy we recommend adding a foot piece to raise them for easy installation, if this is not something you are willing to do please contact us for options of retro fitting your tent before you can come in for a fitment.

If you have any constraints on your vehicle/set up such as
– constraints to the back/side of your vehicle back due to a 270 awning / large spoiler ending / other items that are already/need to be fitted to your car please contact us directly to ensure your set up is correct and ready when you come for collection.

The RoofPod is can be fitted to any roof rack on the market.

Many Roof Racks available are compatible with our original RoofPod mounting set up. There are however some roof racks that  require some adjustments either in the tent build, or for a specialized fitment.

Things to double check,

  1. Your load rating for the RoofRack is 50kg or higher,
  2. For a standard fit your roof rack should be raised enough reach your arm underneath to secure the bracket,
  3. Slats should run side to side (not lengthwise).

Please let us know if you are unsure of your roof rack so we can ensure your tent will be fully fitted with no delays.

If your Roof rack is any of the following, please let us know so we can equip you with the correct fitment options,

  • Front runner slimline racks  – require a special fitment, please ensure we are aware in order of us to give your the correct mounting brackets
  • Front Runner Racks – require a spacer set, please let us know so we can add this to your order.
  • Slats running front to back (lengthways)
  • RoofRack not tall enough to reach underneath.
